Homework for Wednesday, 8/28- Summary

Brazil’s government was offered $22 million to help fight the fires in the Amazon rainforest, but furiously rejected the offer then told the other nations to mind their own business. Soon after, agreeing to potential terms in order to accept aid, then on Tuesday evening, the government accepted aid from Britain. The reasoning behind President Jair Bolsonaro’s rejection, is due to a verbal feud with president Emmanuel Macron of France, who announced that aid package at the G7 summit meeting. “He will have to withdraw his words, and then we can talk,” stated Mr. Bolsonaro offering possible terms for his acceptance. Brazil ended up accepting $12 million in aid from Britain instead and still fighting the fires.

Answer: According to Alex Reid, what are the benefits of doing an online blog for a writing class? What are your feelings about keeping a blog, good and bad?

  1. Doing an online blog for a writing class comes with many benefits. According to Alex Reid, one benefit being the students are able to find motivation through blogging, not just for blogging, but for writing in general. Another one being you get to chose your audience, style of writing, topic of writing and so on. On top of that, you can change whatever it is you want to change when you decide to do so, that way whatever it is you’re writing becomes more engaging, and you don’t have a rubric or list of rules to follow… you write freely.
  2. I believe blogging can be very beneficial for everybody, not just students. I feel when you are blogging, its almost like you’re in your own world while still expanding your knowledge on writing with out even knowing it. Which, for a lot of students, is better instead of being told what you need to write and when it should be done and other guidelines following. The down side of blogging, for some students, would be the publicity. Anything and everything you post on your blog is not private to anybody, so yes, the world can see. This can result in the blogger holding back from writing freely, which is one of the many purposes of blogging.
